Reward Offered for Man Who Pistol-Whipped Doctor in Venice
The Board of Supervisors approved a $10,000 reward for help catching a man who pistol-whipped a doctor in Venice over a dinged up bike.
VENICE, CA - The Board of Supervisors today offered a $10,000 reward in hopes of tracking down a man who pistol-whipped a doctor in Venice when he refused to pay $150 for allegedly damaging a bicycle.
Supervisor Sheila Kuehl recommended the reward.
About 11:15 p.m. July 23, Dr. Bruce Lee was in his vehicle near Windward and Pacific Avenues when two men and a woman walked up and began shouting at him, saying he had damaged a bicycle parked nearby and demanding money.

One of the men got into the vehicle from the passenger side and beat Lee with a handgun.
Lee was taken to Southern California Hospital in Culver City for treatment of his injuries.
