Students to Exhibit Their Work at Venice Arts

The exhibit will feature a variety of art work done by local kids.

Venice Arts is scheduled to host its annual student exhibit this month.

Work from more than 100 students will be featured as part of the “2013 Student Culminating Exhibition,” according to Venice Arts Program and Media Coordinator Scott Oshima.

Framed photographs as well as arts and crafts and screenings of short films done by students will be part of the display.

"They're really excited," Oshima said of the students. "A lot of them have been working for a year on this project."

While allowing the students, who range in age from eight to 18 years old, "their moment to shine," the exhibit also serves to benefit the community, according to Oshima.

“It’s also an opportunity for families to learn about what we do and see the incredible stories  students are telling through their work,” Oshima said.

The “2013 Student Culminating Exhibition” will kick off from noon to 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 11. The exhibit will run through June 15. For more information, visit Venice Arts online.
