Woman Arrested After Barricading Herself in Mar Vista

For the second time in one day, Los Angeles Police officers are responding to a barricaded suspect.

VENICE, CA — A woman was arrested Tuesday after she allegedly injured another person and then barricaded herself with a shotgun in the Mar Vista area of Los Angeles, prompting a SWAT team to respond.

Officers went to the 3600 block of South Barrington Avenue, near Venice Boulevard, at about 11:20 a.m., the Los Angeles Police Department reported.

The woman, in her 40s, had allegedly "cut" someone and then barricaded herself in her home with a shotgun, police said.

It was not immediately clear if she peacefully surrendered to police, but she was taken into custody sometime before 4:45 p.m., Los Angeles Police Officer Drake Madison said.

This is the second SWAT response to a barricaded suspect Tuesday.
