Three Arrested in Venice After Best Buy Theft

Residents are woken by helicopters early Tuesday morning as police hunt and then detain three suspects who allegedly filled a U-Haul with electronics in West L.A. and fled to Venice.

Three suspects were arrested in Venice on Tuesday morning, after allegedly breaking into the Best Buy store in West Los Angeles and filling a U-Haul with electronics, City News Service reported.

An alarm went off at the store around 3:30 a.m., beginning a police chase that led to Venice, where the burglars abandoned their vehicle and fled on foot. The three suspects were arrested between 6 a.m. and 8 a.m. in the neighborhood near Milwood and Electric avenues, City News Service reported.

Police were aided by a helicopter and a canine team. The noise of the chopper woke residents during the early morning hours.
