We start off this Valentine's Day with some unfortunate news. A fire claimed much of the house at 109 Paloma Ave. on Sunday night. It took firefighters from Venice and the Santa Monica Fire Department 25 minutes to control the blaze, which was reported around 9 p.m., City News Service said. No injuries were reported.
It was a sunny, warm weekend, but we can look forward to clouds ahead. Tuesday is predicted to be cloudy, and then rain is expected Wednesday through Saturday. That can't come soon enough!
A group calling itself Venice Love is staging a news conference/protest for Monday evening at 8:30 at Rose Avenue and Third Street to offer an "urgent appeal to Los Angeles Mayor Villaraigosa that he personally visit, and meet with them, and help end Venice's now completely out-of-control vehicle seizures and anti-homeless actions."
