Come by Venice Arts Sunday January 4th, from 1-4pm for another exciting adult Drop in Media Storytelling Workshop! This year long series is part of the Community Story Lab, a new program for adults that mirrors the depth of learning and arts engagement in our programs for youth! The Drop in Labs are free for low income adults.
Led by media artists Michelle Glass, Andrea Dominguez & Paige Tighe, each month will present a new theme and approach to media-based story telling. The theme for January's Drop In Lab is:
Exploration of an Emotion: Students will create a work that is inspired by an emotion. How is an emotion communicated in a single moment? Can it be? Does it look like the emotion intended or do we read something else? Students create a simple line drawing, or abstract representation of the emotion using color and line. Next, students will take a photograph of a facial expression for the same emotion. The photo will be printed out in black and white and it will be combined into the 2D work. If time permits, students will select from curated loops of music and combine it with their 2D work using iMovie, creating a looped work.
