Venice Chamber of Commerce Legislative & Legal Committee has created the following recommendations for November 2020 ballot.

While all propositions on the State ballot are important for various reasons, we have taken positions on those that will have an impact on the Venice business community.

Proposition 15 - Split Role
Vote NO

We can’t afford the largest property tax increase in the history of California!

Proposition 20 – Protect victims of violent crime
Vote YES

Venice more than many other places has suffered from an increase in quality of life, theft, and property damage crimes. Prop 20 reverses both Prop 47 and 57 classifications of crimes which essentially decriminalized many of those offenses.
