VENICE, CA -- Two county employees cleaning restrooms in Venice were sent to an area hospital Saturday when they became ill after being exposed to a cleaning solvent located in a supply closet. The workers, a 23-year-old man and a 31-year-old woman, were listed in good condition at an area hospital, said Margaret Stewart of the Los Angeles Fire Department.
Firefighters, followed by a hazardous materials team, were sent to 3100 S. Ocean Front Walk at 7:32 a.m.
No other people were in the area and there was no hazard to the public, Stewart said.
