The Westside Youth Orchestra is made up of students aged 7 to 17 years old. They attend several local schools including, UCLA Lab School, City School Charter, John Burroughs, El Rodeo, New West Charter, and Santa Monica High School. With music director & conductor Lowell Crystal; musicians will play selections
- Kabalevsky Suite (Escapade. Rondo. Song of the Cavalry), Dmitri Kabalevsky
- Overture to Royal Fireworks Music, G. F. Handel
- Guest Conductor, Nathan Gendler
- Concerto for Oboe and Orchestra (Hob VIIg: C1), in C major, First Movement., F. J. Haydn
- Genna Whittell, Oboe
The orchestra is raising funds to attend the Worldstrides Heritage Festival competition in Anaheim, April 26th. Last year in Anaheim the WYO won the Silver Award for small orchestra. Tickets are Free, a tax deductible donation would be gratefully accepted.
