Victorville Route 66 Car Show And Block Party To Celebrate Mother Road's 100th Anniversary (vvng.com) — Victorville is throwing a Route 66 centennial car show and block party on Sept. 12 in Old Town, with more than 110 show cars, live music, contests, food, and family activities along Seventh Street. You can still register your vehicle through Sept. 5, with a $30 fee that includes a T‑shirt and challenge coin, plus fun extras like a doggie fashion show and beer garden.
   

2. Support local arts: High Desert residents shine in September productions (bluewaterhealthyliving.com) — High Desert residents can catch two locally cast theater productions this month at the Cultural Arts Center: the musical revue "A Golden Age Cabaret" from Sept. 4–6 and the comedy-mystery "Clue" from Sept. 11–20. Produced by Phil 413 Productions, the shows spotlight local performers and offer classes for aspiring actors, with tickets and details available online.
   

3. Victor Valley College to host annual 9/11 flag event (vvdailypress.com) — Victorville community members are invited to Victor Valley College's Library Lawn Sept. 5–7 to help place 3,000 flags honoring lives lost in the 9/11 attacks. You can drop in for any amount of time to help, with each flag bearing a victim's handwritten name beside the campus's "United We Stand" memorial.
   

4. Modesto man convicted in food truck fraud case with ties to Inland Empire (ocregister.com) — A Victorville resident is among victims who say they lost tens of thousands of dollars in a food‑truck conversion scheme run by a Modesto businessman now convicted of major fraud. Prosecutors say he took over $1 million from customers across California, but San Bernardino County authorities never pursued local complaints, leaving High Desert victims without criminal charges filed on their behalf.
   

5. Rock'n Our Disabilities Foundation nearly rocked by scam (vvdailypress.com) — A High Desert nonprofit that recently moved operations from Victorville is warning locals about scammers falsely selling vendor spots for its upcoming Pumpkin Patch & Fall Festival. Rock'n Our Disabilities Foundation, which still serves Victorville families, urges anyone approached for payments through personal accounts to verify directly with their office before sending money or signing up as a vendor.
