• Sacramento Delta gates shut for 24 hours to save salmon run (actionnewsnow.com) — Water managers will close the Delta Cross Channel gates near Walnut Grove from 10 a.m. Thursday to 10 a.m. Friday to protect migrating fall-run Chinook salmon. The 24-hour shutdown will also help manage river flows, water quality, and flood control, and officials say similar short closures could occur next week depending on Delta conditions.
