8 Arrested In Operation Targeting Child Exploitation In Contra Costa County: Police
The effort focused on identifying people trying to exploit minors online, according to police.

WALNUT CREEK, CA — Eight people were arrested across Contra Costa County as part of a weeklong law enforcement effort focused on identifying individuals trying to exploit minors online, according to police.
The operation, hosted by the county sheriff’s office and led by the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, took place the week of July 21 and included 15 agencies, the Walnut Creek Police Department said in a social media post.
“In the days following, WCPD investigators arrested an additional suspect tied to the operation — an individual who had arranged to meet a 13-year-old child with the intent to commit lewd acts,” the department said in the post. “Though the arrest occurred later, it was a direct result of leads generated during the coordinated effort.”
