WALNUT CREEK, CA — Wine lovers, soccer fans, and downtown shoppers could find a meeting of minds and wine glasses in Walnut Creek's business district on June 18.
The Walnut Creek Downtown Association is bringing back its annual Uncorked summer sip-and-stroll event, adding a soccer-themed watch party inspired by the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
From 5 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., attendees strolling through downtown Walnut Creek can sample wine, beer, and spirits, explore local shops, listen to music, and gather together at downtown merchants in the city center.
A centerpiece of this year's event is Visit Walnut Creek's Sip & Score Lounge, where the FIFA match will be broadcast live.
Participants can begin their evening at either of two check-in locations: Rudney Plaza at the Lesher Center for the Arts, 1601 Civic Drive, or Verde Gourmet, 1372 North Main St.
Event organizers are also bringing back Pitch-A-Friend, a social activity that uses color-coded stoplight necklaces to help singles connect during the evening.
Retailers and vendor booths will also be open.
Tickets cost $65 for general admission and $35 for designated drivers. (Designated driver tickets are available for guests ages 18 and older when purchased with an early bird or regular Uncorked ticket.)
Additional information and tickets are available through the Walnut Creek Downtown Association.
