CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, CA — Some of the weekend's best finds won't be sitting on a shelf.
Hidden Golden Tickets tucked throughout Joybound's thrift store will launch a countywide shopping event Saturday with bargain hunting, nonprofit giving, and the thrill of discovering an unexpected treasure.
The treasure could also be a new pet as Joybound People & Pets launches the East Bay Thrift Store Crawl, a Contra Costa-wide event designed to support local nonprofits while encouraging bargain hunters to explore participating shops.
The East Bay Thrift Store Crawl runs Saturday until Aug. 18. More than 10 Contra Costa County thrift stores will be participating, according to the non-profit.
Visitors can search the store for Hidden Golden Tickets, enjoy complimentary treats, enter to win door prizes, and meet cats available for adoption in Joybound's Cat Lounge.
Organizers say the event offers shoppers a chance to discover vintage finds, score bargains, and give donated items a second life while supporting nonprofit organizations that serve the community.
Participants who collect stickers from each participating thrift store on an official crawl map will qualify for a grand prize drawing worth $275 in gift cards. Additional details and qualification rules are available on the event website.
