Kilpatrick Townsend's Kristin Garris and Ben Holt Appointed Sub-Committee Chairs for the American Bar Association Young Lawyer Division IP & Internet Law Committee
WALNUT CREEK (December 16) – Kilpatrick Townsend & Stockton announced today that attorneys Kristin Garris and Ben Holt were recently appointed to serve as Sub-Committee Chairs for the American Bar Association (ABA) Young Lawyer Division IP & Internet Law Committee. The Division is committed to assuring it is best able to represent the newest members of the profession, ensuring that it reflects the society it serves, and providing young lawyers with the tools and opportunities for professions success.
Ms. Garris focuses her practice on trademark and copyright litigation and counseling. She has experience with trademark proceedings before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board of the United States Patent and Trademark Office and with infringement cases in the federal courts. Ms. Garris also has experience with numerous domain name disputes before the World Intellectual Property Organization's Arbitration and Mediation Center, other Internet-related disputes, trademark licensing, portfolio management and trademark clearance, trademark prosecution, and copyright infringement disputes.

Mr.Holt is a registered patent attorney who focuses his practice on patent prosecution and intellectual property with industry experience in software, cloud computing, Internet technologies, video game systems, electronics and embedded systems. He advises Fortune 500 companies, mid-size companies, foreign entities and start-ups on patent prosecution and portfolio strategy. Prior to his appointment, he has served as the chair, vice-chair and secretary of the Cyberlaw Section of the Utah State Bar, and spoken on Internet topics such as Search Engine Optimization, Domains and the State of the Internet. Before becoming an attorney, Ben was the Project lead on a Real-Time Embedded Java Platform, developing API functionality to enable rapid deployment of hardware input/output modules.
