Assistance League of Diablo Valley Collects “Food for Families”
When community minded organizations work together, EVERYBODY WINS!

Due to the Covid 19 shelter-in-place, many parents have lost their jobs and struggle to feed their families. As a community outreach, Assistance League® of Diablo Valley is partnering with the Contra Costa and Solano Food Bank for a food drive, “Food for Families.” The donated food from the food drive will help to offset the recent 40% increase in demand at the food bank by providing nutritious foods to identified families in need.
The community is asked to bring shelf stable food to the food barrels located at the Assistance League offices at 2711 Buena Vista Avenue, Walnut Creek. The Assisteens®, a chapter auxiliary comprised of teens and tweens, who cultivate leadership skills while supporting causes for children and seniors, will distribute 500 flyers to neighbors to share the “Food for Families” story and appeal for their support.
