Assistance League’s Encore Fashion Show, Macys-Broadway Plaza Rocked!
A special thank-you to Macy's Danny Carter, Director, and staff members Lesle Nelson, Mahesh Dhakal and Edna Vivo for indefatigable support!

The dedicated member volunteers of Assistance League® enjoyed another return to Broadway Plaza, Walnut Creek, again to participate in the Macy's Gives Event Fashion Show, on Saturday, October 29. At 9:30 a.m., attendees were greeted by VP Membership Louise Ferdun who, with the help of Hospitality Co-Chairman Jo Patrick, accepted admission tickets to be used later for a raffle. Likewise, a wristband issued by Macy’s provided a more than generous discount for in-store purchases.
After the attending fashionistas shopped for “must have” items, they proceeded to the second floor, where other Assistance League members and Assisteens® donned creations fit for a cocktail party, an opera, and yes, a high school prom, as well as overall holiday merriment. A palette of “merlot,” emerald green, jet black, and browns enhanced with bolero, dramatic neckline, jumpsuit and stole nuances resulted in creative genius. A robust applause greeted the models, Assisteens® included, as they made a final stroll down the runway.
A hush then descended as attendees eyed luxurious gift baskets loaded to the brim with holiday niceties. Four individuals accepted their good fortune in utter disbelief.
