Assistance League Scholarships Recipient’s Letter of Thanks

Since 1999, Assistance League^® of Diablo Valley’s Scholarships program has provided financial and emotional support to high school, community college, university students and returnees to the academic community. Each applicant has expressed a desire to advance through education by maintaining a designated grade point average, volunteering in campus and community projects, charting an academic timeline and availing themselves to an interview.

Scholarships Committee members look forward to following the additional accomplishments of these remarkable students in the ensuing years. Most recently, Scholarships Committee member Lesley Salo received an update from Claire Costelli, Scholarships recipient 2018-2019. Claire matriculated from Diablo Valley College and graduated from UC Berkeley’s Haas School of Business in May 2020.

Claire’s letter of appreciation included such insights as… I would like to personally say thank you to every individual who contributed to my education. Your financial assistance and investment in me, my academics, and my future means the world to me… I would not be where I am today without your help and support...I feel extremely fortunate and thankful that (Assistance) League helped reduce my financial barrier…the gratitude I have for the Assistance League is immeasurable. You have greatly impacted my life and I cannot thank you enough for the opportunities your organization has given me. Your kindness and generosity are extremely selfless and admirable.

The Scholarships Committee is funded by Assistance League of Diablo Valley Thrift Shop at the Way Side Inn, Lafayette, as well as corporate and personal contributions.
