Assistance League Thrift Shop’s Everything Asian Event Nears

Assistance League® Diablo Valley member volunteers agree that this year’s summer months remain particularly active and festive. Appropriately, they are preparing for the annual Asian Event, scheduled to begin Tuesday, August 15, at 10 am.

Let your eyes feast on an assortment of ceramics, paintings, table top accessories, Women’s clothing, hardgoods and household items. Prices range from $5 to $65.

Note the impact of color. The obvious is red, which evokes festivity and joy while warding off evil. Small wonder that the color is still used for gift envelopes and wedding invitations.

Another life-affirming color is yellow, an Earth element symbolizing power and authority, which at one time had been restricted to royalty. Green and blue evoke longevity and harmony, while the color white honors those departed.
