Assistance League's Sunshine Boxes adds Weekend Food for Children

A consistent daily diet of nutritious food plays a pivotal role in physical and emotional growth, as well as academic performance.

Let’s empower today’s recipients to become tomorrow’s volunteers!

Launched in October 2019, Assistance League® of Diablo Valley’s Sunshine Boxes is a philanthropic program in the Operation School Bell® Focus Area. Already providing shelf stable and nutritious food for identified students in our community, Sunshine Boxes’ goal is to supplement weekend food needs for students, as well.

Sunshine Boxes volunteers include such items as fruit, cereal, macaroni and cheese, peanut butter and beef jerky. Initial deliveries are made to the participating schools monthly and then distributed on a bi-weekly basis to students. Investing a mere $13 per Sunshine Box yields overwhelming results!
