Astronomy Lecture Tuesday May 24th. with Dr. Zarija Lukic, LBL

Please join Mt. Diablo Astronomical Society for the May 24th. general meeting. The meeting starts at 7:15 and ends at 9:15. Our monthly meetings begin with a short “What’s Up” presented by one of our members, followed by a speaker.

This month’s speaker is Dr. Zarija Lukic from Lawrence Berkeley National Labs, and the title is : “Supercomputing the structure of the universe”. Zarija's research combines (astro)physics and high-performance computing and he has published results in both physics and computer science journals. Major topic of his research is the large-scale structure of the Universe, and different ways of measuring cosmological parameters from sky surveys.
