Latest: East Bay BART Service Restored; 'Major' Delays
BREAKING: All service has been restored

SAN FRANCISCO BAY AREA, CA — BART has resumed between the West Oakland and Embarcadero stations, but expect "major residual delays systemwide," according to a service advisory.
It was shut down due to downed power lines in the West Oakland area. That shut down the transbay tube, halting all service between San Francisco and the East Bay.
At one point, BART recommended, "Please seek alternate means of transportation."

BART has not said if the downed power lines are the result of a potentially deadly, four-alarm fire in East Oakland.
Crazy Monday in #Oakland. First a building fire, now no BART service into the city. I knew I shoulda slept in. @sfbart pic.twitter.com/A8gPFfiY7J
