From Bean To Bar — Luxe Chocolate Shop Opens Walnut Creek Shop: Report

Just in time for Feb. 14, the Läderach chocolate shop will be one of 250 stores worldwide.

WALNUT CREEK, CA — Downtown Walnut Creek will soon add Swiss chocolate to its mix of shops and restaurants.

Läderach, a family-owned chocolatier with locations in more than 25 countries, is planning a store at 138 Broadway Plaza in the former Ecco space, according to reports.

Founded in 1962 in Glarus, Switzerland, the chocolatier began as a supplier to specialty chocolate shops before expanding internationally. The company is known for using fresh, high-quality ingredients and traditional Swiss chocolate-making techniques.

The Walnut Creek store — nearly 6,000 miles from Glarus — will offer walk-in purchases and gift selections, including chocolate bars, truffles, pralines, seasonal items, and plant-based options, according to reports. An opening date has not yet been announced.

The new location adds to downtown Walnut Creek's retail and dining options, providing residents and visitors with access to Swiss-made chocolates in the heart of the city.
