The blue-smocked member volunteers at Assistance League® Way Side Inn Thrift Shop, located at 3521 Golden Gate Way, in Lafayette, had hoped to break out provisions for the Fourth of July Merchandise event, scheduled to begin on Tuesday, June 9. Unfortunately, the “themed” inventory is limited to a few flags, platters, stuffed animals and candles. However, if you happen to have Fourth of July items that you no longer use, you can save the day by dropping them off at the thrift shop and receive a tax donation receipt.

Having said that, you still might drop by to view the eye candy before you go to the retail stores. You might find a scarf to complete an outfit. Who knows, you might create a look that boasts our nation’s colors then wear the items separately throughout the year for other occasions. Just know that your generous donations and purchases have a profound effect on improving the lives of those who are vulnerable in our community. How “American” is that?
