Sun & Shield - Voices of Strength, Resilience, and Hope

Join Diablo Choral Artists for our final event of the season: Sun & Shield - Voices of Strength, Resilience, and Hope, a Concert & Auction featuring Bach's Cantata BWV 79, Gott der Herr ist Sonn und Schild. Celebrating the rich musical traditions of Shape-Note hymns, African-American Spirituals, and German Reformation music, this program explores how communal singing fosters deep cultural bonds while challenging social and political norms. Featuring uplifting works by J. S. Bach, William Billings, Alice Parker, and Undine Smith Moore.

Silent Auction opens at 3pm with Concert at 4pm. Reception to follow.
