Cindy Darling Announces Run For City Council

She is the third candidate to formally announce plans to run for Walnut Creek City Council.

WALNUT CREEK, CA — Cindy Darling, a former Walnut Creek planning commissioner, has announced she is running for a seat on the Walnut Creek City Council.

Darling, 61, is a longtime volunteer on various local committees, and has also been an advocate for environmental causes.

Three of five City Council seats will be open in the Nov. 3 general election.

Two incumbents, Justin Wedel and Kevin Wilk, have already made formal their re-election campaigns, with Wedel seeking a third council term and Wilk his second.

Mayor Loella Haskew has not formally decided on a re-election bid, but has indicated she probably will seek a third term.
