Closing Soon, Walnut Creek Pet Store Shuts Down After Decade

The Ygnacio Valley Road store will close Sept. 21, while two nearby locations remain open.

WALNUT CREEK, CA — Walnut Creek shoppers have one week left to visit a Petco that has anchored a convenient Ygnacio Valley Road stop for nearly a decade.

Petco will close its store at 2820 Ygnacio Valley Road on Sept. 21, almost exactly 10 years after the location opened, according to the Bay Area Telegraph.

The store occupies a space in The Orchards shopping center at Ygnacio Valley and Oak Grove roads, next to Safeway. Its closure will eliminate one option for shoppers making a quick pet food, treat, or supply run along Ygnacio Valley Road.
