Coming Up: Walk With Walnut Creek Mayor Bob

Mayor Bob Simmons will lead interested community members on a walk that explores the newly-renovated Geary Road on Saturday, Sept. 12.

Walkers should meet at the corner of First and Buena Vista avenues for a 9 a.m. departure. The walk is about 3.5 miles in length.

The route will start on Buena Vista Avenue toward Geary. The walk will proceed westerly along the newly-constructed Geary Road, with brief stops to talk about some of the features included in the reconstruction.

From there, walkers will turn left onto Camino Verde, and continue on Camino Verde Circle until they enter the Acalanes Open Space. After a short walk on a single track trail, walkers will rejoin the Briones-Mt. Diablo Trail and return to the start.
