For Commuters: San Mateo-Hayward Bridge Now Open
The bridge was closed all weekend for maintenance.

The eastbound lanes of the San Mateo-Hayward Bridge are now open this morning after crews finished weekend work on the span, a Caltrans spokesman said. The eastbound lanes opened at about 4:20 a.m., spokesman Bob Haus said.

The westbound lanes opened a short time ago.
Both directions of the bridge opened early than expected this morning after Caltrans officials closed the bridge all weekend to resurface and treat the deck and perform routine maintenance.
