DVFF to Host Annual Auction April 19 at Walnut Creek Civic Park Community Center

This auction offers fly fishing gear and the funds generated support conservation organizations, including the local Alameda Creek Alliance.

Walnut Creek, Calif., July 31, 2015 – The Diablo Valley Fly Fishermen will host an auction at the Walnut Creek Civic Park Community Center on April 19, 2016, to raise funds that will support conservation and education efforts. The auction is open to the public and a great opportunity for anyone interested in fly fishing to bid on equipment, guided trips and other fly fishing related items.

The evening will begin with a silent auction that will include flies tied by club members, many of whom have perfected flies for fishing streams, rivers and lakes in Northern California. The live auction will feature popular guided trips, high-end items such as rods and reels, as well as goods donated by community businesses and club members.

Proceeds will largely support various conservation organizations affecting positive change on streams, rivers and lakes in Northern California, including the local Alameda Creek Alliance and Trout in the Classroom. The DVFF’s Trout in the Classroom program delivers eggs to classrooms and supports students’ education and appreciation of our water resources. The DVFF and its volunteers support Trout in the Classroom in over 30 classrooms in 20-plus schools in Contra Costa County. This program is provided free of charge to interested teachers.
