In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the City of Walnut Creek is pleased to announce a partnership with SHELTER, Inc. and St. Vincent de Paul for emergency rental and utility assistance for low-income residents. A total of $105,000 from the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and Community Development Block Grant Stimulus Funds (CDBG-CV) are available to support low-income households affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
These funds are only available to assist low-income families and individuals that have been impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic and are unable to pay rent or utility bills due to a reduction of work hours, furloughs, unemployment, and/or diagnosis with COVID-19.

Assistance is available either through SHELTER, Inc. or St. Vincent de Paul. Residents may receive up to three months of emergency rental and utility assistance based on the need and funding availability. For more information, please inquire with the organization what the qualifications are for the assistance programs.
