19th Annual Walnut Creek Sports & Fitness Turkey Trot 5K/10K/Kids' Runs takes place in downtown WC, and is expecting thousands of participants in support of the Walnut Creek public schools and the importance of physical activity. This FAMILY TRADITION benefits the Walnut Creek Education Foundation & PEAK Education Foundation, who together support nearly 10,000 K-12 public school students in WC. In 2010, 3011 participants from 32 states helped Walnut Creek Sports & Fitness donate $25,000 to the schools.
Kick off your Thanksgiving morning with this remarkable event for all ages. Walkers, runners, strollers are all welcome to walk or run the city streets and Iron Horse Trail. New this year are:
- 1/2 m. kids' run added to 1/4 m. & 100-yd dash
- Turkey Trot Costume Contest
- Chip Timing for improved & quicker results
