Where on earth are we going! And what can we do about it? The Awakening the Dreamer Symposium is an inquiry into a bold vision: to bring forth a sustainable, just, and fulfilling human presence on earth. Through video clips and small group exercises, the Symposium presents the facts and urgency of our current circumstances, explores the underlying beliefs, builds hope by remembering concrete examples of sucessful grassroots initiatives, and then invites us to play our part in shaping a healing future for humanity.
Via video, participants hear from far-sighted community leaders --Archbishop Desmond Tutu, Julia butterfly Hilll, Van Jones, Paul Hawken and many more -- on everything from the planet's dwindling biodiversity to growing socio-economic gaps. The event also includes lively breakout groups and practical tools. It is an opportunity for everyone to understand what is happening and to consider how we can all play a part in addressing these problems and creating a world that works sustainably for us and for future generations.
Through this enquiry each individual will discover the unique stand that they wish to take for a more just, sustainable, and fulfilling world. Participants will leave the Symposium empowered to take clear steps to embody their vision for a better world, and having established new connections to work with others on common issues.
