Public Art Walking Tours in Walnut Creek

PUBLIC ART WALKING TOURS


Join Bedford Gallery Docents to Explore the Wonderful Civic Artworks in Walnut Creek


The Bedford Gallery is now offering guided walking tours of Walnut Creek's prime public artworks located in the downtown district. Tours start at 11 a. m. every third Saturday of the month and offer different routes throughout the year. Admission is $5 and includes a free pass to the Bedford Gallery.

Tour highlights provide an up-close view of works by Stephen De Staebler, Yoshio Taylor, Seyed Alavi, Wowhaus and others. Tours also include the Veteran's Memorial Plaza by Cliff Garten and a mural by Oregon artist Josh Keyes. Bedford Gallery docents are trained by public art specialists and can offer information and insight appropriate for all ages.  Docents offer three different tours, each focusing on a specific group of artworks that grace the city’s landscape.

The 60-minute, docent-led walking tours depart from the front of the Lesher Center. Walking tours will be cancelled in the event of rain. Special group tours are also available for groups of 15 or more, by reservation only. Remember to wear comfortable shoes and sun protection.
