Peabody Award-winning correspondent Reese Erlich and media critic Norman Solomon will discuss the need to end the Afghan War now, at the meeting of the Diablo Valley Democratic Club. Erlich will offer specific plans for ending the occupation while helping civilians. A freelance journalist for 40 years he has reported from Afghanistan and contributes to NPR, the San Francisco Chronicle and other outlets. His latest book is "Conversations with Terrorists: Middle East Leaders on Politics, Violence and Empire." Solomon has written 12 books, including "War Made Easy: How Presidents and Pundits Keep Spinning us to Death," which was made into a popular documentary.
