Foothill Middle School to Represent CA in the Odyssey of the Mind World Finals
Local middle school team advances to prestigious Odyssey of the Mind World Finals.

This Foothill Middle School “Run Away Train” Team of 6th, 7th and 8th graders ran away with 2nd place overall at the State Odyssey of the Mind tournament at UC Riverside. Now the team will be representing their state of California and their school by chugging off to compete in the World Finals at Michigan State University May 20-24. They will get to compete against teams from all over the world, stay in the dorms on campus, attend NASA sponsored activities and even be buddies to an international team.
This fabulous and talented group of students has worked extremely hard for the honor or competing at World Finals, and now they need to raise more than $13,000 to cover the costs of the trip. Transportation to Michigan, room and board, shipment of props, and the purchase of a few items to help make this team stand out result in a cost of $1299 per person. To that end, the team is looking for donations and/or business sponsorship. If you are interested in making a donation or becoming a sponsor please visit their donation site at http://www.gofundme.com/FoothillOotMWorlds
OM is a creative problem-solving competition that is completely student driven, and encourages students to think “out of the box”. As you well know, the creative thinkers of today will be the leaders of tomorrow. We have the incredible opportunity to contribute to their success.
