Free Electronic Recycling In Walnut Creek Saturday

WALNUT CREEK, CA — Did you use the shelter-in-place order to clean out your closets, garage, and generally declutter?

If you're looking at a pile of electronic waste and wondering what to do with it, Saturday is your chance to get it out of your house for good — and for free.

Broadway Plaza Shopping Center in Walnut Creek is hosting a free electric waste recycling event from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday.

Here's what to bring:

  • desktop computers
  • laptops
  • servers
  • tablets
  • computer peripherals, such as a mouse or keyboard
  • computer monitors - CRT/LCD
  • television sets
  • cellphones and accessories
  • small appliances
  • home entertainment systems
  • stereos
  • fax/printer/copiers
  • consumer electronics (VCR/VCD/DVD players)
  • rechargeable batteries
  • misc.

There will be a $10 charge for disk drive destruction service, microwave ovens, and air conditioning units.

They will not accept batteries, light bulbs, fluorescent lamps, auto liquids, and liquid chemicals.
