Free Workshop Explains California's New Sick Leave Law

News from the Walnut Creek Chamber of Commerce:

A free workshop on Thursday, August 27 in Walnut Creek will offer professional guidance on understanding and complying with California’s new Sick Leave Law that took effect July 1, 2015.

This law applies to all private and public sector employers regardless of size and covers all employees, including part-time workers.

This comprehensive 90-minute workshop will cover:

· Legal requirements as of today

· When and how to comply

· Importance of having a written paid sick leave policy in place

· Who is covered under this law

· How it impacts paid time off

· Is sick leave a new protected class?

· How much paid sick leave employees are entitled to take

When: Thursday, August 27, 2015; 8:30 to 10 a.m.
