Check out events, activities, classes and more for teens.

This week’s Frugal Family focuses on teen activities to keep your teen busy as school winds down and summer approaches. With lessons, classes and groups available, your teen will have plenty to do to pass the time. And the best part? Many of the events are free.

Deal: On June 30 the Ygnacio Valley Library will offer an origami workshop for teens. Between 6:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m., teens can learn the Japanese art of paper folding.

Deal: Teen Tuesdays is offered weekly on Tuesdays and gives teens an opportunity to play Wii, Playstation and old-fashion board games in the library’s Teen Zone between 3:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. for free.

Deal: Teens and tweens can sign up for a summer scheduled to run from June 20 to July 22. There is a program available for 5th through 9th graders.
Prices: Morning care is available for $240, half days for $488 and full days for $980.
The Fine Print: Registration is required. A fee increase will occur after June 1.
Extra, Extra: Check out summer camps available for younger children as well.

Deal: Teens can sign up for art classes at Shadelands Arts Center and take classes over summer. Teen Clay classes are scheduled for Wednesdays or Thursdays from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., starting June 29. Eight weekly classes cost $108.
The Fine Print: A $33 supply fee is due at the first class. The class is for children age 12 to 17 and is only available at the dates and times listed above. Classes end on August 18.
Extra, Extra: Learn abut other teen art classes such as drawing and painting.
Good Through: June 29 to August 18.

Deal: Kids age 10 and older as well as adults are invited to play football in Walnut Creek. The team meets on Tuesdays and Fridays and usually has one game per week.
The Fine Print: Ultimate Football is not a league and there is no cost to participate.
