Future Walnut Creek Plans Community '2050' Meeting Agenda

WALNUT CREEK, CA — Where should Walnut Creek build homes, create jobs, and bring people together over the next 25 years? City leaders want residents to share their ideas at a Sept. 24 workshop.

The workshop will begin a series of opportunities for the community to participate in the General Plan update.

Walnut Creek 2050 will serve as the city’s long-range blueprint for decisions involving land use, housing, transportation, public services, safety, and sustainability.

Residents can arrive at any time, review and comment on a draft vision and guiding values, and identify key issues and opportunities.

An interactive map will invite attendees to share ideas about housing, jobs, recreation, and community gathering places.

The city will provide food, refreshments, children’s activities, and raffle prizes.

Residents unable attend, can participate via a virtual open house and online questionnaire available after Sept. 24 at WalnutCreek2050.org.

The city also plans additional workshops, pop-up events, focus groups, and other community engagement opportunities throughout the planning process.

The event will be held from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the Civic Park Community Center Assembly Hall, 1375 Civic Drive.
