'Ghost Gun' Seized During Traffic Stop: Walnut Creek Police

Two people were arrested after a traffic stop in Walnut Creek in which an officer found firearms and drug paraphernalia, police said.

WALNUT CREEK, CA —Two people were arrested after a traffic stop in Walnut Creek in which an officer found firearms and drug paraphernalia, police said.

A Walnut Creek Police Department officer stopped a vehicle Wednesday afternoon because it had expired registration tags, according to police. The officer "observed drug paraphernalia in plain view and noticed the occupants of the vehicle appeared nervous."

In talking with the two people inside the car, police said, the officer learned there were firearms in the vehicle. Both people were arrested.

Police say the driver was charged with possession of a concealed firearm, possession of a firearm registered to someone else, and possession of an unserialized or "ghost" gun.
