Graffiti 'Mini Bright' Suspect Arrested After Spree In Contra Costa County

Police identify suspect after a graffiti spree and attempted robbery that escalated the case across Walnut Creek and nearby cities.

WALNUT CREEK, CA — Walnut Creek investigators tracked a month-long trail of graffiti to a single suspect they say could solve more than 30 vandalism cases across the region.

Detectives arrested 45-year-old Walnut Creek resident Brandon Staples on Wednesday. Police said they suspect he repeatedly spray-painted the name “Mini Bright” on cars and homes in Walnut Creek and surrounding communities. They also suspect Staples of attempted a robbery.

Investigators are asking anyone whose vehicle or property was vandalized to contact their local law enforcement agency.
