The first class begins Saturday, October 1, when local landscape designer, Suzanne Arca will be on hand to shed some light on the art of Planting Combinations. Get tips and tricks on blending different plants together in the same space and learn what plants can thrive in shared beds, while providing contrasts of color and texture for visual interest.
Sunday, October 2, is the first of our two-part series on Photography in the Garden, led by husband and wife photography team, Shannon and Jenn Mormon of Kept in Time Photography. Beginner and intermediate-level photographers will learn both the technical and artistic approaches needed to take striking botanical photos worthy of display in your home.

Floral designer and owner of Orinda Florist, Mitra Misaghi, will teach a floral arranging class on Friday, October 14, offering insight into making inspiring arrangements with the holidays in mind. Local gardener, Steve Dawkins, leads classes on propagating and decorating gourds (Saturday, October 22) and growing and enjoying chrysanthemums (Saturday, October 29).
The series wraps up on Saturday, November 5, as local flower specialist, Kristin Yanker-Hansen, helps attendees discover the best Winter Blooming Plants, the many varieties of plants and flowers suitable for adding color to your garden during chilly winter temperatures and rain.

The Gardens at Heather Farm (GHF) is an independent nonprofit organization which operates a six-acre public garden, education center and special event venue. A Certified Wildlife Habitat and Certified Green Business, GHF is self-supporting through memberships, fundraisers, grants, private donations, facility rentals and program fees. The mission is to enrich the community through the beauty and environmental stewardship of our gardens while providing educational programs and a variety of venues for social and cultural events.
