The Sierra Club has been working to protect this area for more than 100 years, beginning with Sierra Club founder John Muir’s initial work to establish the park lands in 1890.

The Sierra Club continues to fight attempts by the timber industry to destroy these magnificent lands, and work to protect wildlife like the black bear that call these parks home.
