Historical Society Looks for Volunteers
Diverse tasks await the public-spirited public on behalf of the Walnut Creek Historical Society.

The Walnut Creek Historical Society is looking for a few good volunteers.
The society has openings for volunteers who can do research and computer work, docents for the Shadelands Ranch, and for living history programs for third-graders and walking tours of the city. Each task has training periods with new volunteers working with a member until they feel comfortable.
If you're interested call the office at (925) 935-7871 or visit the website. The office hours at 2660 Ygnacio Valley Road are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday to Thursday.
While we're on the topic, there's a recent posting by Ed Montgomery on the historical society's website that combines a poem and a piece of historical research. Give it a read.
