Homeless Services: What's The Best Walnut Creek Location
The Planning Commission has given the go-ahead for one location, but an appeal has been filed.

WALNUT CREEK, CA — Is the former KFC on California Boulevard a good place for homeless people to gather for services? If you disagree with this location, your chance to voice your concern is coming.
The Planning Commission approved the use of the former KFC, at 1271 S. California Blvd., as a temporary Homeless Support Center on Oct. 26. An appeal of the Conditional Use Permit has been filed.
Trinity Center is building St. Paul’s Commons, a 45-unit affordable apartment project, at the center’s current Trinity Avenue location. The homeless support center will occupy the ground floor of the new facility when it is completed in mid-2019.

The City Council will hear the appeal on Tuesday, Dec. 19. Attend the meeting if you want to speak in favor or or against the use of the California Boulevard location.
