IF I CAN SHOP ONLINE, WHY CAN'T I VOTE ONLINE?

Dr. David Jefferson, elections technology expert, talks about privacy and cyber-security issues at the Ygnacio Valley Library.

Many wonder why, if it is safe to shop online, it is not safe to vote online. On Wednesday, February 17, 6:30 PM, at the Ygnacio Valley Library, David Jefferson will explain the privacy and security issues involved. Learn more about the larger cyber-security issues that will continue to challenge us in the future!

Dr. David Jefferson is an internationally recognized expert on voting systems and election technology. He is a member and former chair of the boards of directors of the California Voter Foundation and Verified Voting, two organizations that promote open and secure election technology. Dr. Jefferson received his Ph.D. in computer science from Carnegie Mellon University, and is recently retired from the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory.

This educational presentation is free and open to the public. No registration is necessary. The program will be held in the community room of Ygnacio Valley Library, located at 2661 Oak Grove Road, Walnut Creek, south of Ygnacio Valley Road.
