WALNUT CREEK, CA — At one point Monday afternoon, 2223 Walnut Creek customers were without electricity, PG&E reports. That number has dwindled to a handful but the unlucky few are destined to sweat through the night. Power is expected to be restored to the remaining customers between midnight and 4 a.m.

The power went out at 5:12 p.m. Monday. At first, the utility company hoped to have all power restored by 8:15 p.m. However, was pushed back to 9:45.

PG&E crews are busy--other East Bay cities with outages impacting more than 1,000 customers include Lamorinda, Concord, Newark and Fremont. And San Francisco also had thousands of customers without power.
