Student Stabbed At Bay Area High School: Authorities

One ninth-grade student was in custody while another was taken to a hospital, authorities said.

WALNUT CREEK, CA — One ninth-grader stabbed another Tuesday at Northgate High School, according to authorities.

Police responded to the scene around 1 p.m. and took a student into custody, authorities said, adding the victim was brought to a hospital.

Detectives and officers were investigating and determined the incident was isolated with no further threat to students or staff, according to police. The involved parties were acquaintances, Superintendent Adam Clark said in a news release.

Students had returned to class Tuesday afternoon and counselors were on campus and would remain at the school Wednesday, according to Clark.
