We are seeking a bookkeeper with accounts payable emphasis who will be responsible for all accounts payable operations for a growing multi-unit store operator.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Direct all accounts payable operations
- Assist in training and developing office staff
- Coordinated preparation of corporate budget
- Streamline the AP operation and set up proper departmental procedures
- Insure 1099 and sales tax reporting are completed on time without penalty
- Deal with vendors on a day-to-day basis
- Verify the validity of non-recurring invoices, check requests, and expense reports
- Close Accounts Payable on a timely bases and process any transactions that are important such as voiding checks, vendor trial balance, aged A/P, accruals etc.
- Obtain necessary approvals for unusual invoices
- Analyze and review vendor statements and reconcile account discrepancies with vendors
- Assist as needed with payroll, bank reconciliations, g/l postings, and auditing.
Qualified applicants for this excellent opportunity will possess a minimum 5+ years of experience-- A Bachelor's degree in Accounting is a plus.
- Enterprise accounting software experience-- i.e. Great Plains, Timberline (Sage300) or Yardi
- Strong Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Powerpoint)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Extreme organizational skills
- Ability to multi-task
- Ability to successfully pass a background security investigation required
- Ability to have fun working in a small, growing entrepreneurial environment
